Moscow, Kiev to negotiate uninterrupted flight connection on Saturday
MOSCOW, Oct 23 (PRIME) -- Russia and Ukraine will negotiate maintaining air communication between the countries on Saturday in Brussels, a representative of the Transport Ministry told PRIME on Friday.
“Consultations will be held on October 24,” the representative said.
The states had slapped sanctions on each other and air communication between them will be halted from October 25. Ukraine barred over 20 Russian airlines, which carried flights to Crimea, from flights to the country from October 25, while Russia retaliated with a flight ban for all Ukrainian airlines.
On Tuesday, Deputy Transport Minister Valery Okulov said that Russia is ready to start consultations with Ukraine to resume flight connection.
On Monday, several Ukrainian airlines, including Atlasjet Ukraine and UTair Ukraine, asked the Federal Air Transportation Service to allow them to carry flights to the country during the 2015–2016 winter navigation.
